About Renaissance Research and Medical Group
Located in Cape Coral, Florida, our Medical Research Center serves the local community in providing clinical trials focused on improving the wellbeing of potential patients. We have a singular goal, to better the health of our patients and community by supporting clinical research trials in a number of therapeutic areas at Renaissance Research and Medical Group. We do so by conducting clinical trials in Phase 2, 3 and 4.
Dr. Alfonso Garcia-Bello, PI, and Yanet Alvarez, A.R.N.P, Sub I, are the Lead investigators at our facility, along with a Research Medical team consisting of full time study coordinators, assistant research coordinators, regulatory specialists and CCRP, with the experience necessary to assure that your health and safety is always first and foremost. We partner with prestigious pharmaceutical companies, Physicians and Specialists to better assist in the clinical trials we participate in.

Dr. Alfonso Garcia-Bello
President/Medical Director
Principal Investigator
Dr. Alfonso Garcia-Bello brings over 30 years of medical experience to his leadership of Renaissance Research and Medical Group in Cape Coral, FL. Trained originally in Havana, Cuba, and later in New York, his clinical background spans Internal Medicine, Allergy, and Immunology — a foundation that informs a systematic, data-driven approach to patient evaluation and care.
In 2017, Dr. Garcia-Bello co-founded Renaissance alongside Yanet Alvarez, ARNP, with a vision of pairing advanced medical expertise with a rigorous, science-based approach to wellness and aesthetics. Since then, both have pursued continuous advanced training and participation in national conferences to stay at the forefront of their fields.
As President, Dr. Garcia-Bello draws on decades of clinical judgment to guide Renaissance Research and Medical Group, contributing his medical expertise to the design and execution of clinical trials and the evaluation of emerging treatments. He is known for engaging patients and colleagues with clear, mechanism-based explanations of diagnostic and therapeutic decisions — a habit that translates into thorough documentation and transparent adherence to protocols in the research setting.

Yanet Alvarez, ARNP
Vice President
Sub-Investigator
Yanet Alvarez, ARNP, serves as Vice President and Sub-Investigator at Renaissance Research and Medical Group in Cape Coral, FL. She holds a Master's degree in Education and Business and brings over two decades of Florida clinical experience spanning triage and psychiatric nurse practice.
Yanet's clinical depth is complemented by a certified specialization in aesthetic medicine, giving her a distinctive, well-rounded skill set across behavioral health and aesthetic/dermatologic study populations. Her leadership role at the site reflects both her clinical judgment and her operational expertise — a combination that supports smooth site management, staff coordination, and consistent protocol execution.
Known for a compassionate, patient-first approach, Yanet plays a key role in ensuring participant safety, engagement, and retention throughout the clinical trial process.

Dr. Nelson Alvarez

Dr. Nelson Alvarez is a board-certified OB/GYN with over 20 years of clinical experience and more than a decade dedicated to clinical research. Throughout his career, he has seamlessly combined direct patient care with a strong commitment to advancing medical knowledge through rigorous, ethical clinical trials.
His extensive experience serving as both Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator reflects a deep, hands-on familiarity with study protocols, regulatory compliance, and the patient safety standards essential to successful clinical research. This dual perspective — as both a treating physician and a research leader — makes him a dependable partner for sponsors seeking meticulous adherence to protocols and high-quality data.

Dr. Mizyl Frances Damayo, MD
